Scout Badge Programs
We provide a number of badge packages to assist you in getting your Scouts the knowledge and training to achieve some of the outdoor based badges which may be difficult on your own settings or meeting places.
All badges can be provided stand alone of added to a camping event with us. All badge programs require a minimum of 10 young people to take part.
Forester Badge £20pp
This is available from November-March only
This is a 1 day package that will give the young people the knowledge and experience needed to achieve their badge.
The day will cover Tree Identification both in person and with the help of visual aids, Tree planting to support the local woodlands, Woodland management skills, Forest tools, Trimming/laying/felling hedges and trees.
Natrualist Badge £15pp
This allows your group to spend a day in our woodland site to take photos, make sketches, find out about the plants and trees from our instructors and to finally present to the group around the camp fire
These activities will allow the young people the freedom to explore their creative side in nature and to achieve their badge criteria by the end of the day
Craft £20pp
If your Scout troop is looking for something a bit more outdoors for their craft badge then we can help with a woodland craft day.
The young people will learn how to safely carve useful and decorative items from greenwood, prepare and make cordage from natural materials and other woodland craft activities.
Master at Arms £60pp
Rika can provide GB archery instructors to guide your scouts through achieving their master at arms badge for archery.
This will be run over 6, hour long, training sessions and will cover the safety rules required to run and use an archery range, tuition in archery and the practice time to improve skills and finally a contest with their peers.
Survival Skills £45pp
This 2 night/2day program is designed to ensure the scouts cover all aspects needed for their Survival Skills Badge but also covers aspects of other badges including but not limited to Nights away, Outdoor challenge, Chefs badge and more.
During the camp your scouts will learn the follow skills under the guidance of our Bushcraft instructors:-
Knife safety and sharpening, First aid in the wild, Building natural and tarp shelters, Lighting building and maintaining fires including the selection of woods for specific tasks, Hygiene in the outdoors, Distress signals, actions to take when awaiting rescue, how to build a personal survival kit, sleeping in the shelters they have built, Meal preparation over an open fire using game and/or foraged items as well as the ability to cook without utensils
